Every gift helps ensure that transformative literary programs continue to thrive in our community, creating opportunities, amplifying voices, and opening doors for the next generation of writers, readers, and changemakers.
One of our most impactful programs is Writing in the Schools, or WITS. Through WITS, published poets visit underserved schools to work directly with students who might not otherwise have access to arts education. These workshops do more than teach writing—they build confidence, spark creativity, and help young people discover the power of their own voices.
To date, we’ve served more than 5,000 students. With your support, we can continue expanding youth literacy programs and reaching even more classrooms and communities.
Your generosity also sustains our internship program, which provides hands-on training for more than 50 emerging professionals each year. Interns gain real-world experience in editing, design, marketing, social media, and arts administration—fields that can be difficult to access without mentorship and opportunity.
Many of our alumni have gone on to successful careers in publishing, book design, editing, and nonprofit arts leadership. Your support helps nurture the next generation of literary leaders and creative professionals.
